Part 1 is about developing the system for handling the purchase, preparation, and clean up of FOOD for meals in the home. The other systems of the home deal with clothing, shelter, education, and life purpose. These systems are analogous to departments in a business. They are the backbone of a household and need managed to experience the peaceful fruits of a safe, joyful home. The alternative is a chaotic home with feelings of bitterness and apathy.

This is part 1 of a 3-part series:

Here at the Headquarters, we are always encouraged when a new family calls to share what they are learning during their first year in ATI. The challenges our families face and the subsequent victories they experience give us one more reason to do what we do.  One particular first-year family has decided to create a blog for sharing their experiences. Check out their latest adventures at http://atifamily.com. As you read their blog, you’ll find some creative suggestions for teaching younger children the Wisdom Booklets and you’ll be encouraged by the freshness of their perspective. We hope you enjoy their blog – don’t forget to encourage them along the way – you can read and post comments on most of their posts. Keep up the good work!

Don and Donna Staddon have homeschooled their family of 10 through the ATI program over the past 25 years. In this testimony from the Indianapolis Regional Conference, Don shares many of the important truths that the Lord has taught their family during this time. His testimony gives refreshing encouragement to homeschooling families and reinforces the foundational principles of the Advanced Training Institute.

You can read testimonies from various members of the Staddon family on their ATI Family Support Link Ministry Family Page.

“Through the leading of our Lord, the International Ministerial Institute (IMI) is opening its doors to young women. Up to this point, IMI has been an all-male school, since one of its main purposes is to prepare young men for the pastorate. While many of our graduates do go into ministry, the majority does not do so. Many students simply take the disciplines and the relationship with the Lord which they gained at IMI into their lives beyond graduation for the general furtherance of God’s kingdom. IMI has been in existence now for over ten years, and we have often been asked when we would open an IMI for young women. This last February, the Lord began to confirm to us through Scripture, the Holy Spirit, and authorities that this was His desire.

IMI is designed for students who want a deeper relationship with God and are not afraid to go where truth may take them. We do not adhere to any denomination or theology, and we will not tell a student what to believe theologically. It is our desire that each student learns to hear the voice of God and that God determines their “theology” or lack thereof. We are not focused on the church, as the Biblical focus of a believer is on a relationship with the Father and on seeking His kingdom and righteousness. It is from this relationship with God that true ministry flows from the believer. Jesus defined a disciple as one who abides in His Word, and our goal is to make disciples for Him in this way.

Classes are scheduled similarly to college semesters. The fall semesters start in late August and end in mid-November, and the spring semesters start in late February and end in mid-May. Each semester is twelve weeks long. We require a three-year commitment from the students. If a student desires, he or she can stay for a fourth year and earn a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Ministries. The cost is currently $2,100 per semester, which includes room, board, and books. Separate dorms will be provided for male and female students, and no courtships, engagements, or marriages are allowed during a student’s enrollment in IMI. While these events may spring from friendships formed at IMI, they cannot and will not occur while one is a student here. We desire that all students focus on God and their relationship with Him during this time of training.

Our Web site and brochures are purposely vague, because we cannot communicate the heart of IMI in print. Students need to know what they will experience at IMI, and that is best shared through personal interaction. To request further information or an application, please call us at 512-756-1023 or write to us at 2465 CR 330, Burnet, Texas 78611.”
-Dr. Mike Davis, Director

General Course Overview:
IMI encourages students to develop a passion for God and a desire for the Holy Spirit in every aspect of practical living and future service.

Students are challenged to live as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, to allow God to transform them into a royal priesthood, to rely only on His abilities and power, and to be a pure vessel set apart for His use in the world.

VERITY INSTITUTE JOINS WITH OAK BROOK COLLEGE OF LAW

TO PROVIDE

“ON CAMPUS” LEGAL STUDY OPPORTUNITIES

FOR

LAW AND PARALEGAL STUDENTS

In today’s culture, it is increasingly important to know basic legal terminology and procedures. Not all are called to be lawyers, but everyone can benefit from knowing the Biblical foundations of our legal system, the jurisdictional approach to law, and the source of our rights. Daily activities require all of us to have some knowledge of the law.

Oak Brook College of Law and Government Policy (OBCL) offers different levels of legal study: from the four-year juris doctor (J.D.) degree program for those who want to be licensed attorneys to supplemental material for high school students – all by correspondence. The most practical course of study is the one-year paralegal/legal assistant program by which one can qualify to become a nationally certified legal assistant.

Verity Institute is joining with OBCL to create an “on campus” option for OBCL law and paralegal students. OBCL students will join Verity students in the campus life and Christian discipleship that is such an important part of the Verity program. OBCL students would also have the opportunity to work toward a Bachelor’s degree through Verity while completing their legal studies. Verity students will benefit from the opportunity to take law courses while completing their undergraduate program and from on-campus lectures being planned.

This association between Oak Brook College and Verity Institute will create greater opportunities for students and will advance the goals of both programs. For more information about Verity, visit www.verityinstitute.org; for Oak Brook College see www.obcl.edu.

VerityDualEnrollment

Are you in high school but ready to start college?

For many students dual enrollment reduces the time and cost of college. The Verity program blends foundational Christian truths and initial collegiate studies, equipping students to succeed in higher education. Verity Dual Enrollment: spiritually fortifying and academically jumpstarting students for college.

Verity’s dual enrollment program begins with a two-day orientation at the Verity campus in Indianapolis, Indiana. Students receive instruction in topics ranging from test taking to essay writing. Biblical worldview lectures provide students a framework for beginning college studies. After orientation, students complete the remainder of the program at home.

In the first phase, students complete foundational studies in the Biblical Worldview and the Life Purpose Planning modules. In the second phase, academic studies focus on preparing students to earn college credit through examination. Students complete two six-week academic modules, each culminating in a comprehensive test (such as CLEP and DSST). Study materials, class DVDs, and textbooks are provided to each student on a library system. Advisors work individually with students to answer questions and provide accountability for accomplishing student’s academic goals. Our on-line forum facilitates student interaction and discussion of class concepts.
